The brief for the lounge snug was to create a calming, neutral but stylish scheme giving zoned seating areas and using high end finishes. A neutral pale grey backdrop was employed which was anchored by darker wood accents and pops of calming taupes, ivory and shades of blue. All furniture was designed in house and made bespoke using subtle pattern and detailing to give a premium aesthetic. Soft velvets and tactile wool marry contemporary styling with classic forms to suit the period of the property. We removed an existing window seat which was not used and previously dominated the space making it feel smaller and static. Removing the built in opened up the window area creating a relaxed reading chair area with floor lamp and cast iron radiator maximising useable seating space within the room. A stunning custom made silk rug was installed for softness and contemporary lighting, bespoke marble side tables and luxe accessories dress the space beautifully. A new bespoke fire and TV unit will finish the room.

The multi- use TV snug was created for the clients teenage children to use as well as being used as a second lounge room on occasion. The brief asked for a scheme which employed an element of fun but that also sat with the clients sophisticated and paired back tastes thus still connecting to the other areas of the house. We used a soft, illustrative wallpaper for subtle large scale pattern which follows on from the hallway snug that we also re-designed to connect the spaces. Bolder use of dark navy blue was employed to give visual interest and provide a more practical colour for upholstery with a large bespoke central ottoman. The bespoke rug was designed to complement the rug in the lounge scheme but uses more a practical composition for a room which is to be used by our client’s children. Rust , ivory and taupes were used in the dress cushions and throws and bespoke roman blinds in wool with a rust border trim give cohesion. The existing dated dark wood fire surround was replaced with a beautiful new stone surround and the room has been dressed with accessories.
